Ronald Stoops/Inge Grognard
Stoops and Grognard are a true fashion duo and add up to each other's work. The exquisite result of this will be out in book form for the first time. Ronald Stoops has witnessed the booming success of the Antwerp Six as a photographer, and at the same time experienced his own. He's worked with innumerable other designers, for fashion shows far and near, and has published his photos in almost every fashion magazine on this planet.His partner, Inge Grognard, is renown for her make-up contributions that often determine the look of fashion shows and collections. In any case, they're memorable, that's for sure. And what she does definitely lifts up the craft of make-up, to the level of pure art.Their projects together are know for the bright use of colour, original settings and the game with identity. Faces are hidden behind masks of paint, which makes them stronger, and fragile and surreal at the same time. Photographer and make-up artist don't mind the theatrical, and through their enactments they show discipline, simplicity, interest in the future; a think tank that happens to be design. We are happy to make a book that has the same ambition.
